Who is Your Real Rugby Hero?
We are on the search for Your Real Rugby Hero:
The Real Rugby Heroes competition has opened for nominations with entries welcome for those who have played a crucial role in helping young people to enjoy rugby within school.
Whether it is someone who has invested time in establishing new rugby teams, drives players across the country every weekend or gives up their spare time to coach a team, a Real Rugby Hero is someone who has made a real difference to rugby in schools and links to their local clubs.
- Competition to find the country’s Real Rugby Heroes is officially now open.
- Nominate someone who you believe deserves recognition for making a significant difference to schools rugby.
The 2018-2019 winners will each receive two match tickets to an England International fixture in the summer of 2019, as well as VIP invitations to the national Schools Cup Finals Day at Twickenham Stadium in March 2019 – the biggest schools rugby competition in the country.
“The Real Rugby Heroes initiative is a great way to recognise those that work hard to deliver and enable the game in schools,” said Andrew Wilesmith, chairman of ERFU Rugby Development.
“So many members of staff across our thousands of schools go above and beyond to deliver the sport, and for many young people this is where they first experience the sport. This gives us a chance to say thank you”.
If you know someone who has made a difference at your school, fill in the form describing how and why you believe they should be a Real Rugby Hero.
The closing date for nominations is Friday 11 January 2019.
