In order to participate in the National Schools Competitions, including the Schools Cups, your school will need to be in membership of the England Rugby Football Schools Union for the season 2021-2022.
In order to register your membership, please complete the form from the following link:
Please note that a paid subscription is no longer a requirement of membership.
The competition will follow Government guidelines with regard to Covid-19 and participating schools should be prepared for potential rapid changes or adaptations that may be required in the competition throughout the coming season.
APPLICATIONS FOR 2021-2022
Preparations are now underway for next season and we are delighted to provide you with the link to the entry forms for both the Under 18 and Under 15 competitions below:
Please note that after completing your registration you will not receive a confirmation email. You will get a prompt from Survey Monkey indicating you are done.
The four tiers structure – Cup, Plate, Vase and Bowl – has been very successful in the last few seasons, providing meaningful and appropriate matches; therefore, we will keep the same format for next season.
Please note that due to there being a limited amount of spaces in this competition, places will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Schools who enter after the cut-off will be placed on a waiting list.
Please complete and submit the application forms, collegiate school status forms (if applicable) by Monday, 31 May 2021 at the latest. Applications received after this date may not be entered into the draw.
U15s registration link:
Note that by registering in the competition you agree to abide by the competition regulations and sanctions may apply in failure to do so.
Please find attached the round dates for the 2021-2022 season, as per Age Grade Calendar.
The full regulations will be sent to all entrants in due course and made available on the following webpage: https://www.englandrugby.com/governance/rules-and-regulations/rfu-competition-regulations
Once the draw is completed (by the end of June), it will be sent to all participating schools via email and made available on englandrugby.com. In line with the RFU communication policy used in the past few seasons, we will keep email send outs to a minimum. Therefore, please ensure that any email address supplied is operational and will be checked on a regular basis.
CONCUSSION EDUCATION CODE OF PRACTICE
The RFU, our national Constituent Bodies and partners, are determined to ensure that we lead the way in keeping the welfare of our players at the forefront of all we do. The below is mandatory and part of the competition regulations:
“An educational establishment will only be eligible for the Competition upon it providing evidence that at least one member of staff has completed the relevant HEADCASE online concussion module at the time of application.”
The named coach / team manager for each age group must have completed the HEADCASE Concussion Awareness Training Module here
Please note the above training module needs to be completed via GMS, so the completion gets registered. The Open Access version will not work, as it does not provide proof of completion.
After registering for the module on GMS, the link to complete the module will be in a follow up email and spam/junk folders should be checked. The course will appear on GMS records five working days after completion.
Please note the school registration will not be completed without the module being completed, so we encourage completion of this step as soon as possible.
As part of your involvement in the 2021/22 Schools Cup, we alongside the ERFSU, would like you to commit to Concussion Education Code as follows:
- All players in extra-curricular contact rugby in Year 10 and above to have successfully completed the 20-minute “HEADCASE Concussion Awareness Training Module – Open access version”: here
- All players in curricular rugby in Year 7 and above to have watched the 7-minute ERTV Concussion video here
- The HEADCASE Overview Guidance (get pdf here) is shared with all rugby parents in the school. All parents are also signposted to the HEADCASE Concussion Awareness resources and e-learning here
We believe your application to enter the National Schools Cup is your commitment to deliver this code. We will be sending out a reminder when the draw is published and again in September to ensure your staff and players have completed their course before your first round match.
Have You Registered on GMS?
The RFU have moved online and need you to register your main rugby contact on our Game Management System (GMS) to keep your profile updated.
Without this, we will be unable to contact you and provide membership support; including access to the international ticketing ballots and Schools Cup entry forms.
If you haven’t already registered, for further information, please check the webinar video here
