The thoughts of all of us at the ERFSU continue to be with everyone impacted by the difficult and exceptional situation we are all facing, both across the country and within our own rugby union community.

We hope that you and your families are well and are keeping well and staying safe.

 Start of Season 2020-2021

The RFU are working alongside Government on potential restart options for professional and community rugby.

A group which includes schools representation is looking at a range of scenarios and possible models for reintroducing the Age Grade game in clubs, schools and colleges.

Communication of timing and content of any return to rugby activity will be aligned to and will not pre-empt the guidance and timescales from the Government, DCMS and DfE.

Age Grade Rugby Development Days 2020:

In line with other RFU Courses the decision has been made to cancel the Age Grade Rugby Development Days scheduled for June 2020.

We had hoped to run these virtually but with 75% of the RFU’s Rugby Development staff on furlough, we no longer have the capacity for the planning and delivery.

 International Tickets:

The ballot for the Quilter International games for schools in membership will take place in June.

For a school to be eligible it will need, before the end of May to have its membership confirmed by the County Schools Union and to have a contact on the RFU’s Game Management System.

 ERFSU AGM & Awards Dinner:

Due to the ongoing self distancing with regard to COVID-19, it has been decided that the AGM and Awards Dinner scheduled for the 4 July should be revised.

The decision has been taken to hold the AGM virtually on a video conferencing platform on the 4 July at 1000 hrs, please pre-register here:

The Awards Dinner will not be held this year, but hopefully a suitable date and venue will be found when our Award Holders may be recognised.
